Description

Offshore Legal now has 6 live commercial litigation vacancies across the Channel Islands. These roles are with major offshore firms in Jersey and Guernsey, offering a similarly high quality of complex and interesting cross border work in the following main areas:

  • general banking and finance litigation
  • international insolvency and debt recovery
  • asset freezing and tracing
  • contentious trust and probate
  • shareholders and directors disputes
  • commercial and trade disputes
  • professional negligence
  • regulatory and compliance matters

The firms are specifically targeting candidates who have between 2-7 years of post qualified experience in city or heavyweight regional firms. Whilst they won’t be expected to have direct experience in all of the above areas, candidates should have a general commercial background and be willing to take on a broad practice. Barristers with the relevant commercial experience and PQE range are also strongly encouraged to apply.

Channel Islands firms pay close to city salaries, and with a flat 20% income tax rate, associates generally find themselves having more cash in hand come month’s end. Not only that, but firms openly promote a healthy work/life balance so associates are able to actually enjoy life outside the office in daylight hours! Both islands have miles of un-spoilt coastline, pristine beaches and more likely than not, you will be walking to work, enjoying ocean views along the way. Multiple carriers operate the short flights to numerous UK airports and on weekends it is only a 1.5 hour ferry ride to France!
